Japanese Restaurant in Big Bear Lake.

Happy Hour:  5:00pm - 8:00pm

Teppanyaki and Sushi is served at the Fuji Japanese Cuisine restaurant in Big Bear Lake. This is the place for a delightful party of friends or family to gather around the teppanyaki. Teppanyaki is a type of Japanese cuisine made famous by the Benihana restaurant chain that uses an iron or stainless steel griddle to cook food. At Fuji, the large teppans, including the surrounding counter from which diners eat, can seat as many as 16 people, allowing the diners to sit comfortably while watching the chef prepare their meal on the grill in front of them. While demonstrating his skill, the teppanyaki chef also performs a show for the customers, especially with the flaming volcano.

  • So conveniently located is the Fuji Japanese Cuisine, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a great lunch. Stop at the Sushi Bar for Inari, Chirashi or a combination of freshly prepared Sushi. Perhaps a Donburi (Rice Bowl) with pork, shrimp, chicken, beef or tuna will appeal to your appetite. Diners are really intrigued with the wide array of authentic Japanese menu selections that are reasonably priced as well as prepared with fresh ingredients. And for dessert you must have Ice Cream Tempura!
  • The restaurant, which also has table and booth seating, specializes in Sushi, Tempura, Teriyaki, Sukiyaki and Seafood. The fantastic dinner with the Fuji Boat is a very popular selection for two or more that includes Beef Teriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki, Tempura, Gyoza, Egg Rolls, Shumai, Chicken Kara-Age, Pork Cutlet, Sushi or Broiled Scallop and Shrimp on Skewers. Fuji Japanese Cuisine has several beverage choices to compliment your dinner such as: Sake, Plum Wine, Japanese Beer or Chardonnay.
  • Owner, Atsuko Hori, we call her ‘Susie’, came to the United States in 1971 and plunged right into learning the American-way. She worked as a waitress for several years in California. Combining her knowledge and experience with her homeland Japanese foods eventually produced Susie’s distinctive-style of Japanese Cuisine. Susie has been in the restaurant business since 1985.
  • Upon moving to Big Bear, Susie established other restaurants in Arleta and Simi Valley, California. She opened the popular Fuji Japanese Cuisine restaurant for fine dining in 2007. Owner Susie, truly knows what her customers enjoy in Japanese dining and has an excellent staff who is also experienced with serving in the custom style. The chef performs his Japanese expertise in the kitchen and the Sushi Bar; with an appealing variety of menu choices that also attracts other Asian customers. There are a variety of Special Combinations with Sushi, Teriyaki, Salmon, Shrimp and even succulent BBQ Ribs. Special requests can be prepared and the Fuji Japanese Cuisine restaurant welcomes take-out orders.
